Coined “The Love Goddess” by the press, actress Rita Hayworth was best known for her performance in this layered noir picture. Playing a femme fatale of sorts, Hayworth solidified her status as a star in her first significant dramatic role that also featured memorable musical numbers, charismatic costumes, and celebrated cinematography. Professional restoration on the poster has addressed general fold wear touch-ups, with no tears within the images. Borders have been airbrushed. Before restoration, a tiny chip was in the upper right border corner, and the bottom border was folded back. There is a very faint bleed-through of the NSS stamp on the right border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable signatures on this Tom Jung-designed half-sheet include Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, Alec Guinness, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and David Prowse \u2013 this is a rare opportunity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mummy is a 1932 horror film directed by Karl Freund and starring Grammy Award-winning horror icon Boris Karloff and Zita Johann. Karloff is most famous for his portrayal of Frankenstein\u2019s Monster, appearing in multiple Universal horror films over the years. This early role features Karloff as Imhotep – a long-dead Egyptian prince who, once resurrected, searches for his long-lost love \u2013 in<\/p>\n\n\n\n

fact, the story is part of the inspiration for the 1999 film of the same title! Paper from the Universal Monsters franchise is highly sought-after, and this lobby card that displays a key moment in the film is a must-bid for any horror collector!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954)

Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954) is considered one of the greatest monster films of all time \u2013 and rightly so. Universal returned to the horror genre again with this film, modernizing it for the post-atomic age of the 1950s. The result was an absolute masterpiece. During a scientific expedition to the Amazon, the Gill Man was discovered and proved popular enough to star in several sequels. To this day, it remains a classic monster icon, and this poster remains one of the most desired within the collecting hobby. This poster has been professionally conserved on linen with minimal restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT (1927)

The film is considered one of the “holy grails” of lost cinema \u2013 with the last known copy of this film destroyed in the 1965 MGM vault fire. Starring Lon Chaney, the “Man of a Thousand Faces,” and directed by Tod Browning – most known for producing Dracula (1931) and Freaks (1932) – the film embraces Chaney Sr\u2019s versatility within the plot, with him playing dual roles of Inspector Burke and The Man in The Beaver Hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the only lobby card to depict The Man in the Beaver Hat, his hypnotic eyes, and sharp teeth perhaps Lon Chaney\u2019s most famous guise despite the film’s \u201clost\u201d status. The card has some airbrushing to the borders, and there was a tear in the right border, which barely extended into the blue field around the photo image. The interior of this card is in excellent condition, and after professional restoration, the card appears near mint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JAMES BOND: THUNDERBALL (1965)
Rolled full Bleed US Quad (30″ x 40″)<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

This US Quad for 1965\u2019s Thunderball is so unusual that this poster may be the only copy known. This unique American poster takes its cue from the advanced British quad, closely resembling its size, image, and purpose. When the film was airing, the press book would encourage theatre owners to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

cut the poster into panels so that the images could be displayed separately or arranged vertically or horizontally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though both the American and British posters share many of the same images (courtesy of longtime Bond artists Frank McCarthy and Robert McGinnis), the American poster provides a section for the film’s title, credits, and even an imprint area for theatre information. This highly scarce poster is sure to gain attention from James Bond collectors across the world, not only for its rarity but its highly desirable artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1957)
British Quad (30″ X 40″); Very Good+ on Linen<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

Widely hailed as one of the best horror films of the 1950s, this epic production (directed by Jacques Tourneur and based on the short story by M.R. James, “Casting the Runes”) follows Dr. John Holden’s (Dana Andrews) travels to Great Britain to investigate a satanic cult suspected of being involved in several deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The director never intended to show the titular Demon on-screen, leaving that to the audience’s imagination. Still, he was overruled on this point by the producer, who inserted a shot of the monster at the beginning and end of the film without Tourneur’s knowledge (or participation!). The film was cut to 82 minutes from its original 95 for its American release, and the title was changed to Curse of the Demon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This British quad has been restored to correct a missing upper left corner, including the cast titles in yellow and the studio name, and extended into the right side of the Demon’s face on the poster’s left. The restoration work is magnificent, and the missing portion is almost indetectable \u2013 making this a must-have for any horror collectors looking for vintage content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALIEN (1979)

Ridley Scott’s second film, Alien, created a unique concept of setting a horror movie on a spaceship. It initiated one of the most long-lasting franchises in cinema history. The movie presented a fresh perspective on sci-fi, with blue-collared characters and a strong female protagonist in Sigourney Weaver’s character of Ripley. The movie is also renowned for its nightmarish creature, designed by Swiss surrealist H.R. Giger. Even today, it is considered one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This very scarce advance one sheet debuted in late 1978, before the film’s release in May 1979., sparking anticipation with its bold use of typography<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN (1943)

In the movie Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, the lab-created creature battles the supernatural beast-man. Bela Lugosi plays the Monster, a role he had previously turned down in 1931, and Lon Chaney, Jr. plays the lycanthrope Larry Talbot, which he had created in 1941’s The Wolf Man. This film was the first time a larger Universal “monsterverse” was hinted at. From then on, the studio decided to create other monster pairings, eventually leading to the franchise’s end with the release of the creature films. Fans continue to enjoy this entry, which is now considered a fitting addition to the proud history of Universal’s monsters. This poster has minor cross-fold separation, general fold wear, and some pinholes in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be the film that David Lynch doesn’t like to talk about; still, his take on Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epic is replete with memorable, impactful visuals and an impressive cast, including Kyle MacLachlan (making his feature debut), Sean Young, J\u00fcrgen Prochnow, Brad Dourif, Dean Stockwell, and Sting. Autographed by David Lynch, this “two moons” style one-sheet is unrestored with bright colours and a clean overall appearance. It has general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, most notable in the upper right side and soft creases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
